Social Compliance Policy

Our Social Compliance Policy includes the standards we have established by working as a team, based on our basic principles and values, together with all our business partners. Our aim is to ensure that the Social Compliance Policy becomes a corporate culture within the body of Electronic Devices Industry and Trade Inc. For this reason, social compliance standards have been established and started to be implemented. In addition to creating products and services in accordance these social compliance standards, this policy undertakes to give its employees all their rights arising from the standards within the framework of the law, to comply with the principles of occupational health and safety, to be sensitive to the environment, to maintain open and honest communication channels among employees, and to establish a workplace where employees are respected and valued. The Social Compliance Policy is announced to all our employees through trainings, and our suppliers are informed and are evaluated according to these criteria. As per this policy, no retaliatory or punitive actions are taken against employees who raise their concerns or complaints. Suggestions, Wishes and Complaint boxes are used to enable them to express their concerns. Employees may put any opinions, requests, complaints, and suggestions in these boxes, which are opened and evaluated by the Senior Management. Necessary improvement, corrective and preventive actions are taken for areas which are available for improvement. The Social Compliance Policy covers the following components:

  • Forced Labor (Voluntary Labor)

In our company, all forms of forced labor are prohibited, including prison work, apprenticeship contracts, bonded labor, military labor, slave labor and all forms of human trafficking.

  • Child Labor (Minor Employees)

Our company adheres to the minimum age provisions set out in applicable laws and regulations. Our company prohibits the employment of persons under the age of 18 (Eighteen) in positions that require hazardous work. Our company's prohibition on child labor complies with the Labor Law, the Occupational Health and Safety Law, other legal regulations and International Labor Organization standards.

  • Discrimination (Egalitarian Approach)

Our company values ​​all its employees and their contributions. It has a deep-rooted commitment to stand against discrimination and ensure equal opportunity. Our workplace is committed to maintaining places where there is no discrimination or physical or verbal abuse on the basis of race, gender, colour, nationality, or social origin, religion, age, disability, political opinion, or any other value or status protected by applicable law. Personnel selection for our workplace is made on the basis of qualifications such as vacant positions, education, interests, talent, and work experience.

  • Working Hours and Wages (Wage / Salary)

Our company pays its employees competitive wages according to the industry and the local labor market. Our practices are carried out in full compliance with applicable laws and employment contracts regarding wages, working hours, overtime and benefits.   • Occupational Health and Safety

Our company ensures the establishment and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace environment. Our Company aims to ensure its continuity by minimizing the risk of employees being exposed to accidents, injuries or any factors that threaten health, by establishing a safe, healthy and productive work environment for its employees. The Company takes care to provide a workplace environment free of violence, harassment, threats and disturbing conditions.

  • Commitment to the Community and Stakeholders

Our company makes a commitment to establish bonds with its stakeholders on the basis of goodwill by listening to their views, obtaining information out of their views and taking their views into account. In this context, by determining the employee representatives according to the legal regulations, the Company establishes an environment where the employees can discuss their problems with the representatives and allows them to report their problems in writing to the suggestion boxes. The Company commits to a dialogue with stakeholders on rights available at the workplace or its peripheral area, where appropriate.

  • Employing Foreign Workers (Employment of Foreign Workers)

Employment Contracts of foreign employees working for the Company are drawn up in a language they can understand. Original documents cannot be taken from them at the beginning of their employments and / or when necessary. In no case can workers be employed on debt. The legal rights of foreign workers to work are protected by the company.

  • Human Trafficking

The company cannot employ illegal workers. If an employee wants to quit the job, the company cannot prevent or delay him/her to leave, except for any security reasons. All personal data of employees are protected and kept confidential to the extent specified by law.

  • Rest Days and Holidays

Employees may not be deprived of rest and vacation days within the framework of their legal rights. A maximum of 45 hours of work per week is applied with at least off day per week. Any work exceeding 45 hours is called overtime under the Labor Law and payments are made accordingly.

  • Recruitment and Employment

Recruitments are carried out by the company management by determining the vacant positions needed by the company management, in accordance with the laws and within the framework of certain rules (e.g. foreign workers, egalitarian approach, leaves, wages, vacations, employment contracts, etc.).

  • Employment Contracts (Employer Contracts)

An “Employment Contract of Indefinite Term and Personnel Regulation Procedure” is prepared between the company and the person to be employed, which complies with the workplace rules and laws and includes the terms and conditions offered to the candidate personnel. Employees who accept to start their jobs sign the Employment Contract and Personnel Regulations.

  • Employee Discipline

In order to ensure disciplined work, the disciplinary rules determined by the disciplinary board are applied.

  • Supplier Selection in the Framework of Social Compliance

Our company selects all sub-manufacturers, toll-manufacturers and subcontractors that it intends to establish business partnerships with in accordance with the Supplier Evaluation Procedure. In case of any non-compliance, the Company takes a regulatory action, reports to the senior management and completes its remedial works.
